Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders

What are PMADs?

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (or PMADs) encompass a range of mental health disorders – including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder–that occur during pregnancy or up to two years postpartum.

MOTHERS:

Do you feel anxious or panicky?

Are you having difficulty bonding with your baby?

Do you feel as if you are "out of control" or "going crazy”?

Are you worried that you might hurt your baby or yourself?

Do you feel more irritable or tense?

Are you feeling sad or depressed?


FAMILIES:

Do you worry that something is wrong but don’t know how to help?

Do you think that mom is having problems coping?

Are you worried that mom may never get better?

 Gain a better understanding of what PMADs are, who is impacted, and learn the risk factors associated with PMADs. This free 60-minute training will also provide resources and support for PMADs.
